Phone Scam (I Think)

Yesterday I received a message from 447486665. It reads -

hello mum, I have accidentally dropped my phone and it’s smashed, I’m on a friends phone so can you whtsapp meon 07944523701 please x

Punctuation and abbreviations exactly as shown. Needless to say I didn’t ring that number, but I did check with my daughter and she said it’s a scam. We don’t use what’s app anyway.

I thought I would put this on here to just warn others. If it stops just one person from being scammed then it’s worth doing.

Whenever I've tried to send to 7726, it always fails.
