Property Boundary Responsibility .
Hello,
Sounds a bit daft I know - but-
Where does one stand (literally) - when determining the left and right of a property.
ie. From the front I assume, looking at your front door. ?
Thanks
Joe

However if you've been looking online to work out who, say, owns a boundary hedge, you need to be aware that those websites which make references to the left or the right of a property can be misleading. While there are certainly some common conventions when it come to such matters, there are no absolute rules.

Having looked into who is responsible for the boundaries on the property I own, other than those bordering the public highway, all others have shared responsibility between myself and the relevant neighbour.
My understanding is that this arrangement is now quite common, rather than being responsible for the left or right fencing.
