I told you this would happen as a result of the Tory government removing citizens rights gained through EU membership; this was not a mistake, but a deliberate removal of the right. Unless the government re-instates the law it will be lost at the end of the year.

There will be many other similar rights we will lose, which will come out of the woodwork as time goes by.

Er.... I began teaching in 1972 in the UK. It was an equal pay organisation, along with many others. Just a bit before the EU do you agree? You know, that wonderful organisation that was set to pull the Victorian Britain into the sunny uplands of EU Communism. Teaching was only one of the equal pay organisations. EU is irrelevant here.

I haven't listened to the latest diatribe from your mate Phil.

Did he say that the UK government had repealed the Equalities Act, 2010, which when enacted, contained the principle provisions of the Equal Pay Act 1970 (which of course pre-dates our membership of the EEC)?

If he didn't say that (and I doubt he did because I'm sure if the government had repealed the Equalities Act, it might have been on the news) then how will the right to equal pay be lost?

It is the, "single source" aspect that has been removed, hence the need for secondary legislation to restore it.
