Another hate tax by this apalling shower of a government. Labour have always hated the military. I don't often envy the US but I do now.

This is for off duty personnel only ? While it seems harsh, non-military grieving families are already in the same position.  Maybe the issue of IT needs reviewing for all.

Miners- mostly probably Labour voters, looked after.

Train drivers- union men, most likely Labour voters looked after.

Pensioners- most likely Conservative voters, shat on.

Farmers- most likely Conservative voters, shat on.

Military- most likely Conservative voters, shat on.

Not quite sure why they shat on the Waspi women.

Most probably all coincidental  (have I missed any?)

10:16 because if they paid them out they'd have less dosh to throw at foriegn despots for "climate change" initiatives.

Applies to both on and off duty personnel who are not married

Despicable

It's no different to my dis payment through my work. Am I less worthy than someone in the military?

Btw, they could simply get married to avoid it

bednobs, how likely are you to be killed doing your job?

This will affect children of divorced parents, too, and children who are orphaned by the death of the military parent

how?  if they leave it to the child it's iht free.

Currently, I'm much more likely to die doing my job than anyone in the military, but they have signed up to put their life on the line if the need arises.

It seems a malicious action to me and it should be reinstated.

ps just over 70 soldiers died "in service" last year.  25% of those from suicide.  my company, who are a lot smaller than the army in terms of numbers had 4 payouts of DIS benefit that didnt have a beneficiary named in the same period according to am email i received the other day nagging me to name a beneficiary.  i expect proportionally, it's not much different in the amount of people dying in service. (ok, i get they are rough and ready figures!)wwe are not taking of huge numbers, plus dont forget that a lot of estates arent subject to iht anyway (although obvs people who die in service are probably younger than the average person who dies, so  wont probably have hada partnet pre-decease them)

The money this will save is an absolute pittance, I don't understand the thinking.

Is it any wonder the military is struggling to recruit?

What do you expect from Labour, hate anyone who isnt a potential voter as sid above and on top of that they especially hate the Military.

Be intereting when it all kicks off if kneeler expects the Military to protect him.

//The money this will save is an absolute pittance//

You miss the point, this is no differnt to VAT on Private education in that it is a hate tax driven by ideology.

You miss the point

I've no idea how you have come up with that notion.
