I would appreciate any advice on a issue relating to my pension problems.
I had 18 years service with a company and left about 6 years ago, leaving my pension in what I thought was a safe place. However this company has struggled in recent years so I have been going through the motions of transferring this pensions to my new company pension scheme which is a much better scheme . It was dragging on for most of last year Until in early december I recieved a letter from my current pension administrators saying that they could not go ahead with the transfer because someone at the old company administrators would not sign something called an indemnity. On closer inspection I noticed that the company they had approached was not the correct administrators of my pension, they had approached the wrong company.
Then a few days later my old company and pension went into administration and my pension is now in the hands of the Pension Protection Fund !!!
I have been in touch with my old administrators who have said they were ready with the cheque of all my pension value ( 35,000 plus) but my current pension administrators approached the wrong company to sign the indemnity.
What can I do now, I would appreciate any advice.
