Hi, have been with same firm for 16 years and am now leaving under a compromise agreement. They are helping with outplacement for cv's interviews, etc. However, I have never been in a situation to claim benefits in the past and would be grateful if someone could tell what I can claim if anything. I will be getting a smallish pay-off to go (just over 10k) and don't know what impact of that would be. Any advice gratefully accepted. Also, anyone else go through a mid-life crisis and wanted to totally change direction?
If you have over 8k in savings, you are not entitled to claim Income Support, anything over 3k is taken into consideration, e.g. they take so much off your benefit per week for every 250 you have over 3k. Unless you can "lose" 5k I dont think you would be able to claim anything :-(
