Letting agencies

When a letting agent successfully finds a tenant for a flat, the tenant pays a fee.

But is it standard practice to charge the landlord as well for the transaction, so money is coming in from both ends, and if so what is the landlord charged for?

In A Pickle is correct - I'm in the process of renting out a property (as a landlord) and we're being expected to pay a month's rent to the agents for the 'introduction' of a tenant.

Sorry to disagree but when we let our house about five years ago we didn't have to pay anything to the letting agent, although we did pay a solicitor to arrange the tenancy agreement, but this was way below a months rent.
