What is the minimum height of a boundary structure between gardens?
3 Answers
My neighbour is threatening to take me to court for invading her privacy because my boundary wall is only 2 ft high. I took down the old 6ft panel fence and erected a retaining wall along the boundary as I was landscaping my garden. Is there a legal minimum height?
Thanks

If that 6ft fence was yours, or your responsibility, then you have no duty to re-erect it. If your neighbour wants a high fence, then it's up to her to build it along her side of the boundary line.
Fencing higher than 2 metres requires Planning Permission to be granted. Unless the Land Registry property title (or the Title Deeds in the case of unregistered land) specifically requires you to maintain a fence of a particular height (unlikely) there is no obligation on you to do anything. She can put her own fence up if she wishes abutting your wall. Threatening invasion of privacy is just kite flying.
