Some general advice is appreciated from anyone who has been through this..
My brother was hit from behind yesterday, other driver has admitted fault and they and my brother have been in contact with her insurance company..on top of this my brother went to hospital this morning with a very stiff neck and back.
What i want to ask is does he have to tell his own insurance company an do they have to do anything on his behalf, or does he deal with her insurance company solely, also will he need a solicitor to assist him with his claim against her, as he has an injury and also his car will technically written off because of age of it and price of repair.
Finally assuming he does need a solicitor to aid him does he use on of these so called personal injury firms like no win no fee or would a high street firm suit, he asks me all this as he wonders who pays for all these costs relating to the claim and I have told him that her insurance company is liable as its her fault, is that correct as he only has 3rd party fire an theft for his own insurance with no legal cover and he thinks he has to inform his own company but he has been told not to as they will try to charge him for legal costs when he can alternatively use a solicitor who will claim it all back from her insurance....
Yes I know is a lot of questions and all help is appreciated as probably someone on here has been through similar scenario.....thanks all for any help

Don't rely on third party insurers to guide you nor admit to anything with them as this may go to court. Did the third party put it in writing that the blame was theirs?
Keep all receipts involved with additional costs because of this accident, including bus tickets, stamps etc. Ask for a hospital report on visits and include lost time from work. You will only be compensated with proof. There are plenty of insurers out their willing to fight your cause for their benefit, not yours, choose wisely!
