you guys helped me out a while ago regarding telesales i registered with the tps and they stopped now i am getting international calls up to 30 times a day its the same company all the time i have been nice and asked them not to call, the man says he likes calling me, i have tryed a whistle had my little boy talking to them, but they keep calling it is boardering on harassment now and to be honest is getting me down, is there anything i can do?

is it the same guy? if so get his name and the name of the company he works for and report him.

he wont tell me his name or the company he works for all he says is he likes talking to me.

Hey Loopy, If its the same person and he wont tell you his company are u sure it is a company and not some individual who is stalking/pestering you. Try ringing BT and telling them that you are getting worried that this may be more than a sales techniqe

Contact the tps (telephone preference service) again via their complaints department - here's the link

and register this company there. You might also wish to contact the enforcement agency (information commissioner's office) and let them know that this company are still pestering you.

I used to get a lot of unwanted sales calls and until I registered with tps, I used to simply answer the phone, telling them they would have to speak to the master of the household, then I'd put the phone handset on the top of the tv, turn said tv up really loud and leave it there. A different way of getting rid of them was to be pretend to be very aged and exceedingly deaf (no disrespect to anyone of advanced years or with hearing problems) - that was actually quite fun !

its definatly a company they were trying to sell me a loan, i said no and thought it would be the end of things but he keeps ringing and ringing bt have said theres not alot they can do as it international but will try again.

i have try all sorts darrenlass77 and to be honest at first i had fun radio, tv, little boy and even the dog but now im just getting annoyed that he wont leave me alone. thanks for the advice i will try your suggestions x

Do you have an answerphone Loopy? I would just let your machine get it everytime it rings, never answer it until you know who is on the other end, hopefully he may give up if he never actually gets to speak to you. I would even consider a call to your local police, esp if he leaves messages you will have proof of his nusiance. See what they say as this nutter sounds like he is getting out of hand.
I hope it sorts itself out and the gimp gets lost, it all sounds very creepy :o(

loopy..........i used to have this problem, i registered with the tps,but an international company kept ringing my office and asking for Mr Jackson (not me) in the end i just put the phone down straight away! it took about 10 times but touch wood they have stopped!!

Does he ring at roughly the same time? Would it be possible to get a man with a real deep angry voice to answer the phone a few times. Bet he wouldn't fancy talking to HIM for long. He might just get the message.

he rings from 8 30 am till 9 pm he also likes to talk to my husband!!

Pick up the phone, say hello, as soon as you know it is them, don't ring off, put the phone on one side. Let them talk to themselves. If you can fart loudly close to the phone well and good.

I always just answer 'no'. ie

'is that Mrs x?'

'no'

'are you the homeowner?'

'no'

may I speak with the homeowner?'

'no' .....

and so on. They soon get really p*ssed off and dont know what to say. They hang up, and you have not resorted to being rude.
