I lived with my partner who i was NOT married to for 7 years in a property that we rented off of a housing association we DID NOT own the property. Am i entitled to half of the house or half of the value since i am no longer with him.

Its not actually my personal situation its my mum she is convinced she is entitled to half of this house or half of the value im trying to explain to her that because she wasnt married to my dad n they didnt buy the property she does not have the right to anything. being married or not is irrelevant - neither of you own the house so why would you be entitled to any of it.

the landlord owns the property - you merely rented it.

and 7 years of rental does not mean you own it

even if he did own the house she would not be entitled to half of it - there is no such thing as common law wife in the eyes of the law - she would only be entitled to whatever money she put into the upkeep of the house - if she could prove it.
