unlawful commercial parking
I'm sorry if this has been discussed before, but, we have a retail outlet whos back access road is opposite our home. they are in breach of there planning restrictions for storage of goods and vehicles in the access road and the council are taking him to court. However, the owner has now taken to parking his commercial vehicle outside our house overnight even though he has customer parking outside his shop and lives miles away. Is there any legislation that anyone knows of where this is illigal ie commercial vehicles being parked in a residential area away from the premises and not at the owners home?
thanks
thanks

It will be blue, green, orange or white (but probably blue or orange). Write down the licence number (like OF 123456) and also note the name on it. Then phone your local traffic area office and ask for their help. Even if no disc is displayed, ring them anyway with as much info as possible. Here is a list of offices, just find your county. http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosa/vosalocations/traf ficareaoffices.htm

If they have got an operators licence, they will also have an operating centre. If they have not got an actual secure yard, it may be the access road counts as his premises. Vehicles should be parked at the operating centre when not in use (unless the driver is spending the night away from the centre eg you are in Birmingham and he is parked in Glasgow). They cannot just park on the street. Does your road have a 7.5T no waiting ban on it? Remember, you may not have a sign to say so. A city centre may have, say, a square mile or more with a ban, but signs are only erected at the entrance to the ban area.
