My sisters, brothers and i were left a house when my uncle died. he died in January last year. my younger sister is executor. she has told us that we have to get the house up to habitable condition because it has been empty for 6 months now and a new law has come in that states the council can compulsary purchase any house that has been empty for this amount of time. Has she been given the correct advice. We also want to get planning permission for the land at the side of the house, but she has been told that no villages are giving planning permission for new houses, although the lady next door has got permission to build on her orchard.
Is she being given correct advice.?

The council will not complusary purchase as she thinks, as for planning consent you need so proper advice on this as the it is not true to say that no consent will be given
