Please please I need help now!

My friend just tried to down load a movie off the web and he was told he would need some software to do this he cannot remember exactly what it was called be may be something like connex???

Any way since he clicked to download the software this anti virus web page keeps coming up with an error message attached saying warning w32.nyzor FKatYF is a virus and it tells him that people maybe able to get info of his pc i.e from his 'my documents' and to link to 'securitynetpagenet' to solve the problem there it says he can scan for viruses for free with a software called malwarewipe or spyheal but buy the antivirus software for $50.

This 'securitynet' website seems to now be his homepage and he cannot get rid of it.

Please help

He needs to run a spyware too like Adaware Personal (that's free).

Also tell him to run his anti-virus too.

Also run Spybot - Search & Destroy and if things don't improve, check out Ewido. Links to all these programs as well as some good general advice can be found here.

DO NOT pay for the software the pop-ups suggest, it's a scam to get your cash and while it might fix your initial problem, it'll most likely install additional problems that you'll have to pay again for later.
