I slipped in the shower and landed on a soap dish. resulting in a deep cut needing seven stiches. Which has left me with a very ugly 6cm scar. I rent my house. I have been told my landlord should rent his properties with a regulated non-slip bath. Is this correct ?
thanks

You may be right, but try taking responsibility for your own actions .
I should love to receive just 1p for every rental property which contains a regulation non-slip bath!!
Sorry - that should have read 1p for every rental property which does NOT contain a regulation non-slip bath !?!
It is most probably correct. Sue the pants off the landlord !
So it's your landlords fault you fell over is? You've been watching too many ads for ambulance chasers. Get real accidents happen.
HMO's (houses of multiple occupancy) where rooms are rented and the landlord doesnt live on the premises have more rules and regulations governing them (fire doors etc). You imply that you rent the complete house therefore most of those rules wont apply.

The obvious question seems to be why didnt you put a mat in the bath yourself is you were liable to slip? It's really down to you.

Sue the b******d for every penny he has. It's your right.

It's disgraceful, providing a dangerous bath.
Have you thought of taking the soap dish manufacturer to court? Surely that is what caused your cut as if it wasnt there it couldnt have cut you.

You mean our nanny state doesn't yet regulate the provision of anti-slip bath mats? What is this country coming to?
Surely the bath manufacturer is at fault here for making a slippery bath!
Sue the water company for supplying wet water which makes surfaces slippery.
But where does the water company get its water from? Sue the clouds.
at the end of the day theres only one person at fault here.

God!

Would you like the number of a good solicitor?
How many times have you used your shower & how many times have you fallen?.Your Landord isn't responsible.
Redcrx, the solicitor might first recommend mediation. Either way one will need the contact details for the defendant. I suggest the following numbers

T: +39.06.69884857 fax +39.06.69885863 (Holy See),

Whilst you are there, can you ask Him to send some good fortune my way and if possible Prince Charming.
where is this 'regulation non slip bath' rule regarding landlords?

any bath can be slipped in, no matter how matte the surface may be.
you knew it was slippy and didn't use a bath mat.
who in the world doesn't use a bath mat?
haven't you ever watched casualty or holby city?
3 of the most slippery things that ever existed - shiny surface, water and soap suds - all combined, are asking for trouble!

if the soap dish hadn't been there, would you have been ok?
you put it there didn't you? you must put it a safe distance away from you...like the hallway perhaps?

take responsibilty for your lack of common sense

(have you got a bath mat now?)
What about suing yourself ? - If you take yourself to court you could admit stupidity and being totally at fault through this attribute. Then hopefully you would be awarded maximum damages.
I have a phobia about questions regarding people slipping in showers and landing on soap dishes, and before I knew it I had read your post and now I can't leave the house and have to sit in a darkened room. A claim for damages is on its way ...................
hey everyone, do you think we scared shelli off? Or has do you think the bath has issued a counterclaim for scurf marks or limescale?
