if your company is taken over by new company you are covered by TUPE legislation which means the new company have to maintaint he contract you were originally on ie job pay hours etc
If there are two peopel doing the same job in the transfer they should really be interviewing them competitively but there should have been consultation before the TuPE transfer took place go to ACAS website or DTI and look at TUPE laws you have full work rights at 1 year but no right to redundancy until two full yers
