how long does bankcrupcy take

its different for each person and their debts, i know 2 ppl who have gone bankrupt 1 took 2months and other took 6 months!! plus you've got to take on board you cant have bank account ect and that it will be on your credit file for 6 years, (this is how i understand it - might not be 100% as just hear say)
