Deodorant
13 Answers
Hiya. I have a bit of a problem with underarm sweating. I pretty much always get small sweat patches which are obviously quite embarrassing although i don't think i smell too much (fortunately!). I wash every day and apply lots of deodorant before dressing but, unless its very cold, i always seem to get sweat patches. Does anyone have any advice? Could i be applying deodorant wrongly or are there any stronger deodorants i could try. I generally use mum or dove. Thanks for your help. ps Im a 20yr old female if that makes a difference!

There's a very healthy crystal thing you can rub under arms-never tried it. Mitchum is quite strong-stings like hell though.

Hi what???
I have the same problem, i tend to sweat lots if its warm, but more so if i'm embarassed or stressed.
I don't know if your using your deodorant wrongly or anything. But I use a stronger product called Driclor. You apply it just before you go to sleep, then in the morning wash it off, and use normal deodorant as usual, and it does help alot.
But be warned:
* make sure your underarms are fully dry before applying.
*don't use straight after shaving.
*It can stain, so wear an old tshirt to sleep in.
There will be other products, but thats just an example.
Hope that helps.xx

i have the same problem, so i tried linden voss triple dry - similar to driclor, but it didn't work for me... well it sort of did.
i found that it stopped me from sweating under my arms, but my body had to lose the heat somewhere and i found that i just sweated really profusely from my forehead, which was just as annoying, so i gave up on it. i'm planning to go to the doctor's about it and see what they can recommend.
i'm sure driclor and triple dry work for some people, but not all i'm afraid :(

I also shower everyday but also get this when I am nervous or stressed about something.
I don't suffer often enough to use any of the treatments mentioned above (though may get some Mitchum for when I am having a bad day!!) however i may be worth taking this into consideration when you go shopping as man made fabrics tend to encourage skin to sweat, and also look for tops that are not so fitted around the underarm.

I had this problem a couple of years ago, it drove me nuts.
I started using a net scrub thing in the shower, and washed under my arms twice just to make sure I was starting off clean.
The type of deodorant is important - the spray and roll on take time to dry. If you don't let it dry completely you will not stay fresh all day. I use either the cream type deodorant or the solid one (but it falls to bits before you reach the end of the container).
Carry deo-wipes with you. Then if you do feel sticky or wet or whatever you can wipe your underarms a couple of times. This is also supposed to be a deodorant too, but you could carry spare.
I tried the Mitchum and a couple of other stronger ones, but they didn't make any difference.
I hope this helps.

I had the same problems even though I won't even leave the house before i have a shower and it really used to affect my confidence.gret.
I use Mitchum which i find really helps, have gone between the roll on, stick thing and spray and am currently using the roll on.
I find that the types of clothing you where can make a difference, the sleeves round your arms and the material. I also find that my feet are a lot hotter since, as the heat needs to escape somewhere but it's far better than sweating!
