I normally write something like..

Dear ?

I am writing to you today to give you ? notice of my intent to leave your employ. I have enjoyed my time at ? but feel that it is now time for me to move to pastures new.

I appreciate all you have done for me over the years.

My last working day will be ?

Yours

.....

It does not have to be flowery
Ditto the above, totally.

You can explain your reasonings in a 'Resignation interview'. I am sure your employers will be most grateful for your years of loyal service and sad to see you go.

You deserve an EXTREMELY nice leaving present after 20 years!

Good luck to you.
