Parking ticket query
2 Answers
My friend was telling me the other day that he got a parking ticket for parking facing the wrong way on a one way street. The warden started to write the ticket before he'd turned the engine off, could he have legally driven away and avoided a ticket?
Also, I know it seems obvious that facing the wrong way on a one way street would be illegal but he said he pulled out of a car park and straight into the space and there was no sign marking the one way street until further up.
Does he have any kind of case for disputing the ticket?

Also if he'd parked facing the wrong way wouldn't that mean that he had just driven the wrong way, either to get in the space or to continue when he left the space?
Anyway, I thought if you drove off before the ticket was written and before they slapped it on your windscreen there was nothing they could do about it...but maybe I'm wrong about that, I'm only going by what I saw on that prog that used to be on the tv to do with traffic wardens in London.

what if he was going to jump start the car in front? you need to be bonnet to bonnet. check there's no cameras about though otherwise that'll get him caught out.
can traffic wardens enforce traffic laws or just parking laws? i don't want to be done for speeding by some oik on a scooter who should be giving out parking tickets. " excuse me sir, you weren't wearing a seatbelt and while i nick you for that my collegue will give you a parking ticket. "
seriously, dispute EVERY ticket in the first instance. irespective of it's legality.
