After many years of domestic abuse i left me husband, he bullied me into remortgaging ther house before i left he has stole money from a creditcard account of mine, sexually abused me, harrassed me out of town, he is living in the house with our son who is at secondary school( subject to residency order) he lied through his teeth on the avidavitt and in court, our daughter wants to say it is all lies, is perjury not a crime? as it seems domestic violence is not, reported all incidents in may historic violence included, police not done anything except interview him. any thoughts please? sand.

Thanks Crete, I have been in a womens refuge and i am working with womens aid at the moment. to say my legal advise has not been the best would be an understatement. Obviously I have heard lots of other cases similar or worse than mine whilst in refuge and believe me the justice system on domestic violence issues is a farce in lancashire. Oh I know the adverts etc on the radio sound very reassuring but if it was not for womens aid and refuge there would be a lot more domestic murders and certainly a lot more suicides amongst victims of domestic violence. Thanks for taking your time to reply. asand
Thanks for your reply druiaghtagh, I have tried to insist that the police take action especially after our daughter started to get abusive aggressive behaviour off her father after I had left. I am away from him permanently and womens aid are the only lifeline for me and many other women in lancashire. I will say my MP Gorden Marsden is taking an interest, but the question I will be asking at a later date, on behalf of all victims of domestic violence is why does the justice system fail so many women. I have lost my home and very nearly my sanity because of this bully, but worse of all my (our) children have suffered tremendously. but these perpatrators manage to turn it around and make out that they are all innocent (I know I speak for lots of women here) as for abuse and fraud being a crime, I also thought lying on oath was as well, but nothing has been done about that. I was hounded out of my home town where all my family live (into an out of town refuge) due to 24/7 harrassment and intimidation, the police have logs of all these calls and they were day and night, they heard several aggressive messages left for me. but they have not come up with one single charge yet? so maybe the crime of harrassment is not an offence either. Oh they did give me a crime number for that in June, but told me not to expect things to happen overnight. What can i say? do I have faith in the justice system? NO!
