If some one has recieved a Petition for Divorce - from a husband having been seperated for 3 months (both in their 60's) does she need to get a solicitor? Or is there any other way she can deal with it without spending so much money?
Thanks

It very much depends on the circumstances and what she wants.

Does she oppose the divorce?

Can the finances be decided between her and her husband?

If it's very straight forward then there is no need to involve a solicitor.
There's no reason not to do it all yourself if its straightforward. Ive done it myself many times without involving solicitors.
