divorce or separation?

been married a fair number of years, hubby is moving to live with someone else. do I go for separation ot divorce? all the children have left home we are renting a housing association house

If you need to apply for benefits, or prove a change of circumstances, proof of separation will help.

It is not an either / or situation. Seperation first, to get things in order, then divorce.

Well have you the means to support yourself ? Even if the children are gone, if he is leaving you then you need to discuss financial arrangements and maintenance etc. So best to get it all done properly and get a proper legal date of separation. I do not know your financial circumstances obviously, but if he is going to live with someone else then he will have a roof over his head presumably, but you need to think about the rent and things like that.
