if some one in authority is gossiping about something that happened to their partner but it was hurtful to the other person involved would it be against the law as malicious

no,its hearsay and gossip
being malicious, in itself, is not against the law
If it is done at work it could be a matter for discipline

thanks for taking the time to answer i know i left it vague but im hurt. Found out though that malicious gossip can be construed as harrassment if 2 or more times by the same person and slander is also now looked at seriously
Hope no one is ever that mean to anyone
