cheapest gas suppliers

does anyone know who the cheapest gas supplier are? as brittish gas are very expensive and keep putting their prices up as i found out this morning when opening my bill. also is there a penalty to pay if you go with a different supplier?

You will have to pay to leave if you tied yourself into one of their price offers. I am tied in till April then I`m off like a rocket.

just had a letter from Southern Electric saying they are lowering my current gas price and they are already way lower than British Gas.

Steve is right. Try uswitch. I was with british gas and i thought my bills were ok-ish. I looked on uswitch and found out that scottish power was better, infact i save over 100 a year!!

I too am with Southern Electric and have received a letter informing about price reductions. They also do a good reduction of you are duel gas and electric from them and even more reduction if you pay by direct debit and more reduction if you have a fixed rate DD. I also went on uswitch to be nosey and they came out cheapest for me, which was great as I was already with them.
