I work in a nursing home and was given money in december to buy a resident presents. Bought the presents gave back change and receipts. Now manager has gone to police to say that I have taken the items on the receipts. police searched my home but didnt find anything two other members of staff are prepared to back me up. the manager is adament that the things arent there. other staff have said that they found things that I bought in another residents room, do you think i will be charged because the manager is so adament??

Most likely the police will give up and you won't be charged. They have looked for evidence and couldn't find any, and they've probably got more important things to worry about.

It sounds like you should look for a new job though, your manager sounds like a right ******.
I agree with Hammer - I would in fact put the shoe on the other foot and report her/him for wrongful accusal.
being 'certain' is not good enough for the law - there must be evidence.

most nursing homes have some kind of cctv, so check the managers office - if could well be him himself ...the fact that he blames you with no evidence and not the other 2 could be a cover up...
