Purchased new monitor
I bought a new Samsung TFT- LCD monitor last Saturday. Now after 4 hours use one of the cell has failed showing a pin of white light. I phoned the shop where I bought it and they said 1 failed cell is not concidered a fault or warranty claimable. What are my consumer rights regarding this product. My work TFT is still fault free after 18 months. Can I reject the monitor as faulty and expect a replacement or refund?

Tell them you are well within your rights to take them to court. My sister in law does this when shops fob her off and it works but be firm.
If the monitor is a Class 2 (ISO13406-2) it is allowed to have 1 dead (or bright) sub-pixel per million sub-pixels and deemed not to be faulty.
