Unfinished business by a Builder
I was introduced to a builder who put a new bathroom suite in my house. After completing 97% of the work, I noticed some leaks and drew his attention to it. He tried to fix the leaks but did not work. I suggested a solution to him that is to take a few wall tiles off then seal the hole where the leaks where coming from. We aggreed that I take the tiles off and sealed the hole so that he re-tile. I only returned from holiday to find the job had not been done and his excuse was that he wants to be paid extra for doing a job that was not done in the first place. I have already paid the full amount that we agreed on in cash. Can I make a clim throught the small clims court for a full refund as the job has not been done?

Give the original builder an ultimatum - fix it or I'll get Joe Bloggs to put it right and bill you for the amount it costs. If he eventually doesn't pay you can go to the Small Claims Court for the money it cost to put it right.
