speeding
my partner was out on his bike at weekend and police pulled over for speeding, they advised that would state 110mph, but said that he was riding curtious and well as was moving out of way for other traffic, which was of course going faster but the police said are after bikers. Anyhow he has 3 points all ready and police say that most likely to get 6 points and ban, so was wondering when ban is over is he left with 9 points for another 3 years

When I got my licence back the offence was there but with 0 points so clearly "nominal" meant that it was a 6 point offence but banning meant they didn't count for future totting up, though the endorsement is on the licence for the usual amount of time. So to answer your question he will have 3 points when he get's his licence back. There's no such thing as an "automatic" ban, the JP always has discretion but a ban is almost certain in this case.
