Had a car crash and gone for personal injuries!

I have had a car crash on gone for injuries but did not have time off work as I am new to the fire service and carn't afford to loose out on not being in work as I am a probationer. Will this effect my claim, I have been placed on lighter duties as a result. Is there anyway they can check on what my lighter duties have been? Thanks in advance!

You can claim loss of earnings only if you have lost earnings - shift pay, reduced pay and so on.

Any claim will need to be supported by evidence - wage slips, medical records and you will asked to give consent to access to your personnel records at work, particularly your sick / absence records.

If your injuries are going to have any detrimental affect on your career you can state this - and your manager will be asked to confirm it.

of course they can and will,insurance companies are not stupid and if you have lied on any forms and they find out,they could take you to court,and then where would you be with your new job,it seems to me you are trying it on,i would drop it before it comes back to haunt you.

I've just been through a personal injury claim and did not have time off work-I was on leave at the time I had the accident and we're not allowed any more than 8 days sick per year so I was just careful when I returned to work not that I have a physical job like yours-I have just accepted my offer and thought it was a very fair one
