No insurance - up to 5000 fine; 6 - 8 points on license; possible disqualification
No tax - fine up to 1000
No MOT - fine up to 1000
No license - fine up to 1000, 3 - 6 points on license, possible ban.
So, you will get a large fine and be disqualifed from driving.
Your vehicle will be seized and crushed, hopefully. The DVLA will take proceedings to get the tax money back.
It's so unfair that another motorist was hit by an uninsured driver, who was not legally entitled to be driving.

And also, correct me if I am wrong Ethel, but in addition to having no docs, the CPS can charge for failing to produce the documents you havn't got!! A cruel double edged sword as such.
"It's so unfair"..... I shall not post comments to that, but count yourself very, very kucky you have not injured anybody or caused more damage.
My advice, pay the cost of the damage, he obviously has legal protection which due to your circumstances will cost you a hell of a lot more when (NOT IF) you are pursued through the civil courts.
Go to the local magistrates and plead guilty to everything. No insurance is one of the few offences which is ABSOLUTE. That means there is NO defence. Even a computer c0ck-up is not a defence.

whats unfair? You took the risk when you got behind the wheel of the car. If you ask me youve got off lightly, what if youd killed someone in that accident.
Oh and i hope you at least have the decency to pay for the damages, sounds like they might be stinging you if asking for 2185 but of course if you were insured your insurers would have handled that for you

surely this is windup...?
surely this person just wants loads of irate replies for a laugh...surely?
no-one, not even the most stupidest of all people would come on here with all that and genuinely expect people to be sympathetic!
if this is true, i assume that 12 in the username is the IQ, if it is not true, well it probably is still the IQ if this is passes for a joke to them

(2-part post):
As far as the bill for 2185 is concerned, you ought to consider that you're getting off lightly. If you'd have been involved in an accident which led to the other driver being injured so badly that he was unable to work for the rest of his life, you could have received a demand for several million pounds. Without insurance, you would have been required to pay. (In practice, you'd have been made bankrupt and lost all of your money and all of your possessions).
If you believe that the bill is excessive, you should write to the other driver's solicitor and request copies of the invoices the other driver received in respect of repairs to his car. However, you should remember that the other driver is entitled to add his solicitor's bill onto whatever he spent on repairing the car. Many solicitors will charge 10 for reading your letter, 10 for communicating the contents to the other driver, 10 for reading the other driver's response and 50 for drafting a reply to you. Unless you're really sure that you could win a battle in the small claims court, you should consider carefully whether it's wise to increase the other driver's solicitors bill (which you might end up paying).

As far as the criminal court action is concerned, I agree with Ethel that the court is almost certain to disqualify you from driving (probably for one or two years). The reason for this is that while 'driving without a licence' can't result in imprisonment, 'driving while disqualified' can do so. (i.e. the magistrates will want you to get the message that, if you're caught behind the wheel of a car again within the next year or two, you'll go to prison - probably for between 6 and 12 months).
I also agree with Ethel that the court will impose a substantial fine. The amount will depend upon your financial circumstances and other factors (such as whether you've got any previous convictions) but you can probably expect anything from 300 (if you're unemployed, with a clean record), up to around 1500.
While the civil action against you (for compensation in respect of repairs to the other vehicle) is theoretically separate to the criminal action, it might help your case in the criminal court if your solicitor could tell the bench that you'd already made full payment in respect of the compensation claim. (i.e. it might be wisest to pay the other driver a.s.a.p).
