mainly greed
I'll let you know when I've graduated.
But would you care if your facing a conviction? as long as they do act, you would be happy !
Depends on what branch of the law you choose to enter. I'm NOT making any sweeping accusations...but I've yet to meet a criminal barrister who entered for the money. Most criminal barristers earn about 50k p/a; private or commercial barristers can earn ten times that. Same goes for solicitors!
Looking at the charges for conveyancy, I'd say greed.

For their own greed, definitely.

But they're not the only ones at it. My greengrocer sold me some apples the other day and he made a profit out of me - the greedy git !! I've since found out that the landlord of my local pub also makes a profit on every pint I buy.

Disgusting, isn't it?

yes brachiopod, but in general people who purchase everyday items, are not under the stressful situation which have led them to seek advice from solicitors, whom in their capacity as money grabbing parasites, because that is what 90 percent of their profession portray, earn their ill gotten gains from those that can least afford it..i will draw your attention today of the inquiry that is going to take place.Re Miners' Compensation 'Exploited' i think you now are aware of my opinion. The industry is in need of more tighter regulations, and if,big if,it comes they have only themselves to blame,i could express myself more to you but im loathed to be seen or heard arguing with an idiot, people could get the wrong idea

Re my above comments,i truly apologize to the small minority who have not been led astray by the lure of big bucks,my comments are not directed at you.
Apologies to you david11, I didn't realise that you were quite such a sad and bitter person, and wrongly believed that your question invited opinion.

Rather than risk you being "seen or heard arguing with an idiot", let's just pretend I hadn't bother answering....
