Air Travel Delay - Compensation
My whole journey from Dubai to Edinburgh was booked with Air France directly on the airline's website which automatically gave me a connection time for the Paris-Edinburgh flight. I missed my onward connection to Edinburgh because passengers were made to wait on board for the terminal bus to arrive before being allowed to disembark from the aircraft when it arrived in Paris from Dubai. This resulted in over 5 hours dealy in reaching to my final destination. Air France is refusing to pay compensation under EU rules (ie: refund of price paid for travel) by saying that it is the passengers responsibility to arrive at the departure gate in time. Obviously they are trying to wriggle their way out because how can they expect me to be on time when I was in transit and delayed by their own airline? Please advise

Advice 2 - forget this compensation culture and get on with your life instead of festering on here about it.
I do think you are wrong about your entitlements BTW, ( I don't think you have any) but the way the rules are written makes it very difficult to tell. They are certainly written with delays PRIOR to departure in mind and don't say much about delays en route.
