Speeding fines and prosecution. Is there a time limit?
0 Answers
In July 2006 I was caught speeding and once I got the paper work I sent it off accepting responsibility, I then got an offer of a fixed penalty and 3 points on my licence. As I already had 9 points (3 came of in November 2006) I didn't hold out much hope but I sent back my licence with a cheque for 60. A week later my licence was returned along with the cheque and a letter saying that as I had 9 points I was not eligable for the fixed penalty etc and that a prosecution would be brought against me. That was in November last year and I still have not heard anything!!! Am I likely to hear anything now and is there a time limit in which they can prosecute me?
