Has anybody had cause to complain to the Law Society about the conduct of a solicitor only to find that they close ranks and won't entertain the complaint despite compelling evidence? It seems to me that they condone malpractice and mendacity by their members.

I assume you have been to the solicitors complaints body and are dissatisfied. If so, do you know there is a legal services ombudsman and you can ask him/her to investigate your complaint?
