I live in scotland , my brother died recently and left a will leaving his property to my son who is a 17 year old apprentice. As the property wil be lying empty for a few years is he liable to pay council tax and if so what at what percentage

The answer may vary between councils, but expect 6 months with no tax to pay and having to pay 50% after that.

The property has to be unfurnished.
