Hi All
Dont know if this is the right catogory but here goes
A friend of ours died suddenly last week (she was only 24) she was living with her boyfreind but as he isent next of kin her body goes to her Mum who lives in Poole we live in Essex ive heard that you have to pay money for each parish that the body goes through any one know if this is true? also as the Mum is on benefit will the Social cove the cost of transporting her down there any advice much appreciated thanks in advance

You don't literally pay for each parish the body passes through. However the undertakers will charge per mile for the transportation so the effect is similar. It will cost a lot.

I doubt if social services will pay for the transport. At most they will pay for a basic funeral where she died.
My brother died in London last summer it cost �500 to bring him home to Newcastle upon Tyne for his funeral.
it would probably be cheaper for the family to travel to where her body is rather than the other way round. Social services will not pay for transportation, and in fact rarely will payy for a funeral.as the funeral directors how much they would charge to transport her
