Hello, my friend says he his in court this friday, is there anywhere i can check to see if he his telling the truth

He will be in the local paper under court round ups in a couple of weeks. Tell him you will be looking out for his name and see how he reacts.
Bit drastic to try and get out of a weekend away with the lads tho!

Bit naughty but you could ring up the court ask for listings then make out you are him and tell them that you are checking that you are due in court on friday. have his address and date of birth handy in case they ask you for them. if they ask you what you are in court for you could make something up say motoring or whatever you think he may have done wrong.

At the end of the day what are you going to do if you find out he is lying? Cease to be his mate? Haul him over the coals? Lots of people feel pressured into doing this lads/lasses weekend away stuff, and say all sorts of fibs to get out of it because they don't want to upset their mates. Ask yourself this, if he is lying, he obviously has a strong reason not to want to go on the trip. Personally, i would leave it at that, dont go to the trouble of catching him out (if he is lying) and then in future it's up to you whether you invite him again

they normally put listings up outside the court for the next day when court is over the previous day ,have a little trott down there thursday night bit sad he has to lie maybe hes skint
