A family member recently died in a car crash. Although it is believed that she made a will, it cannot be located in her property or with any known solicitors etc near where she lived. Can anyone offer any advice? Thanks

Have you contacted her bank to see if was left with them for safekeeping?
You've done what you can - you will have to proceed on the basis there is no will and be prepared to switch course if one turns up. The first steps (listing assets and debts) are the same anyway.

Have you tried her bank?

She had a few bank accounts and some won't a answer the question as to whether she lodged a will with them unless we produce the death certificate (which we can do but it just delays the search - we don't need to know the contents, just if they are holding it).

Also believe it is one of those wills that you buy off-the-shelf from Stationers so not sure if it will actually be valid if we do find it.

Thanks for your responses anyway
