Why are travellers (Gypsies) allowed time and time again, to illegally enter private land and setup camp?

They are then allowed to dump their rubbish(fly-tip), for the local authorities to clear up at great expense to their council tax payers.

These individuals also do not pay local taxes, national taxes, TV licences or vehicle taxes, Yet the law-abiding person is constantly being told via goverment commercials, that if they do not tax their vehicles these vehicles will be towed away and possibly crushed, and if they don't pay their TV licence or council tax they will be heavily fined or even jailed.

You or I would never be able to get away with one single of these numerous criminal offences, then why can they?

they are scum, but are accorded more rights than you or I. Here in Ireland the Equality Authority actually made them a separate group (listed in statute) so they cannot be 'discriminated' against.
We have travellers who set up camp near us once a year, supposedly for 3 days but they're usually there a week. When they're around no one can hang out their washing cos it gets nicked and in recent years they've nicked all the veg from my neighbours garden, nicked the railings & roof lead from the local church, smashed windows, damaged cars, used taxi's then done a runner rather than pay, beaten up any taxi driver who has chased them, stoned kids in the local park and last year they broke into the local dairy. If they were hungry and did it to steal food I could just about understand that, but all they did was destroy thousands of tubs of yoghurt. Why?????
The police have a van stationed permanently near their field when they're here but have never made one arrest. No doubt if someone law abiding threw a piece of cottonwool at one of their caravans they's be arrested for some racial offence. These people are not gypsies, they are itinerant dregs. They should be lined up against a wall with a firing squad taking aim and should have 10 seconds to explain what useful purpose they serve in life.
Rant over...time I went to lie down in a darkened rom.

I'd just like to correct the above poster.....first of all, it's MRS Overall, not Mr. And second of all, did you actually read HER post at all?
Awww, thanks for that BOO. I had to have a peek down the front of my frock to make sure I hadn't changed sex overnight!
I don't think DAVKEL read my post properly. He was probably too busy making sure his spelling and grammar were accurate in HIS post.
One of the things that baffles me is the fact that many Gypsies have permanent camp sites ! Surely the 'difference' they claim to have over working, law abiding, tax payers is that they are TRAVELING PEOPLE and can't settle anywhere! Bull ! -If they were made to pay council tax and all else -I think their numbers would be drastically reduced and so would their menace!
