Chantelle and Preston split
14 Answers
After 10 months of marriage Chantelle and Preston have split. The couple met on Celebrity Big Brother in 2006. They wed following a whirlwind romance. They denied that they rushed into marriage, insisting they genuinely loved each other and took their wedding vows seriously. Both have made a fortune off the back of their much publicised romance. What do you think? Were they genuinely in love or was it an extra-long publicity stunt all done in the aim of making a quick buck?

Maybe if they had just lived together (like previous contestants Helen & Paul) their relationship may have lasted longer, or they would have just split up without any media fuss.
It is always sad when a marriage ends. I must say I find it hard to believe that they have explored every avenue and tried to make it work. The first year of marriage tends to be the hardest work of all, and that is for couples who have been dating a long time. As Chantelle & Preston were only together around 7 months before marriage, maybe they are hitting the hard part now..and have fallen at the first hurdle?

i don't think it was a publicity stunt, but I do think they rushed into it...especially as Preston was already engaged when he met her. Saying that though, a couple could be together 10 years before getting engaged, then get married and still split up as well. Sometimes it's just not meant to be.
It never looked like a perfect relationship (though no one other than those in it really knows what its like), they were soooo very different. As soon as they married Chantelle dyed her hair, started dressing grungy, wearing less make up...it was such a drastic change, obviously influenced by Preston. And then the boob job thing...! Maybe that was the straw that broke the camel's back...??
Anywho, its never nice when a relationship you believe in breaks down, so I say just best of luck to them both

Nobody could know truly whether it was love or not, perhaps they were well trained in how to present themselves publicly a la Tom Cruise and the marriage therefore served its commercial purpose of a plug for a biography for her and the sale of a few extra albums for him. Perhaps it was a very very very short, true romance.
Only a matter of time before the Why we split rollercoaster of media interviews and a sequel toilet-paper novel to combine all the interviews and opinions, couple this with a few sad songs of lost love from Preston , and heypreston. a double-buck whammy. Perhaps they may make even more from a West End Musical of their 10 months together, and we can all look forward to a reunion in 5 or 10 years, with books, albums and a tour (with very special guests).
Feel sorry for them? Not on your Nelly Furtado mate. Cynical? Of course, but who can blame me?

I haven't been this devastated since Charles and Diana split.
I really hoped Chantelle and Preston could have lived happily ever after.
The evil media is to blame, they just put so much pressure on our national treasures.
I just pray Posh and Becks can hold firm for the sake of the children.
Do Hello or OK magazine do "divorce specials" by the way?

At least through sharing our pain we can live with contented hearts knowing that they are not doing it for the money. Presumably then it is merely a gesticulatory colloquy of benevolent minds - yet tuneless caterwauling - for the benefit of a depressed nation, and 10m wont go amiss either. Bless their cotton Gucci socks.
