I have just phone BT to cancel my broadband contract but because they rang up last December and asked me if I wanted to upgrade my broadband speed and send me a Home Hub I apparantley agreed to another years contract. They say I can't cancel now unless I pay them the remaining payments. Is this legal?

have you got anything in writing with them? You might find it somewhere in th smallprint, and then yes it islegal
All the phone companies do it, it is daylight robbery because they give you a few months trial at a decent rate and then they wap it up and u pay more than you did before! We have beatne BT at their own game though, we have the BT broardband home hub thing which gives free calls after 6pm, but the hom,e phone line we pay 5 a month for ringing in only, that way we don't have two phone bills and it really is effective, my mobile has the 02 favourite place free calls too, so we use that from this postcode, including anywhere in the village, for any daytime calls. That is a free thing with 02. we pay loads less now, just need to sort sky out and then i really will feel sorted.
