X BOX 360 BROKEN where do we stand?

My stepson is devastated, his mum bought from argos (dec2006) and still has the reciept (which she,s given to him) apparantley his mum has been told by argos that she needs to sort this out with micro-soft and not with them.How can this be, when it has a one year warrenty, hope some of you clever people can help??

When you buy goods from a shop you have a contract with them so they are the ones who need to reimburse you not microsoft, especially when it is under warranty. I suggest you go back and speak to the manager and say you want it exchanged or refunded and don't be fobbed off. Goods have to be fit for their purpose and 6 months down the line is not a reasonable amount of time for something like this to last.
thanks guys!!! Unfortunatley the all the packaging was thrown out by his mum, my stepson reckons she wont even know what a warrenty is! so all we have is the argos receipt. Ill pop to my local argos in the morning and hopefully they will offer to repair or replace it! Thanks once again guys!
