i have a chainlink fence at the bottom of my garden and the builders who are developing the site in the back field have erected a 6ft feather edged fence 6 inches from my fence leaving a gap full of weeds which grow through my fence. We had a gate in our fence to gain access to maintain our fence if needed, which has now been blocked. My question is has the builders put their fence to close, they say that i can take my fence down but that would leave the fence rails for my children to climb and escape!.

Sounds to me that you have gained secure fencing to your property edge for free and 6 inches of extra land for nothing as well. Start maintaining it as your own immediately. What have you got to complain about?

i was thinking the same - you ask if they have put the fence to(o) close, but they could have put it closer
