upkeep of rented property

the property next door is a disgrace.thegrass on the front lawn is at least 9-10 inches long ,i have spoken to the letting agent but the reply "they are paying the rent".
can anyone advice me what i can do.

Provided there is no environmental health risk it really is not worth complaining about.

long grass is tough. If however they were storing their junk on the lawn/had rubbish and it was untidy then planning could serve a notice requiring tidying up. They aren't going to care about 9-10inch long grass though!

grass is not supposed to be 1inch long - it grows becuase its supposed to be that way, long and wavy.

it is their garden, they can have it the way they want - what on earth makes you think other people have to adhere to your idea of what a garden should look like?

You could always pop round with your own lawn mower if it bothers you that much, like the previous good people have already said, it's really not that much to get stressed about is it?

May I remind you that the weather has been terrible lately and cutting the grass has been impossible for everyone - except those who have nothing better to do! For people who work during the week how are they supposed to cut the grass if it rains all weekend. In addition the grass would have surely grown faster during this rainy period, so get real, you over fussy, anti renter!

Unfortunately you don't really have a say in how unkempt a neighbours garden is.

If it really bothers you that much, I suggest you speak to the tenants and ask them if they'd be happy for you to maintain their garden as you feel it affects the aesthetics of the front of the properties. As they may not be the slightest bit interested in gardening.

10" is nothing. The people across the road have grass right up to the top of their fence and the back garden has grass hanging over the top of the fence (about 5ft high).
