impersonate a police pfficer

is this a crime ? i have recieved a malious phone call from someone claiming to be a police officer telling me a family member is dead, i am getting a visit from the boys in blue and want to know where i stand as they have traced the caller

Let the police deal with it. It is a criminal offence to impersonate a police officer, the person has possibly also committed harassment - but just give the police the facts and leave it to them.
