expect a court case, bailiffs, and problems ever getting credit again (including a mortgage).

They will sell the car, and sue you for any amount that is still outstanding. If the court decides you could have goods reposessed to the value of outstanding amounts if you do not pay the balance.
You will have problems getting credit - but if a car is reposessed then you are already at that stage. If you do get credit then you will have to pay sub-prime rates (very expensive)
