Rented accomodation

Hi all

I rent a house and there are loads of (HUGE) think cat size rats and mice in the loft.
The landlord has got a pest contol guy out but he said its going to take 1 month to get rid of them!
I cant open my windows as they are running up and down my drainpipes so as you can imagine its hot and I am very annoyed! I cant let my daughter out to play incase they bite her and I'm paying �550 a month for a 2 bed property that I HATE!
What can I do?

You appear to have a bigger problem - if he rids the house of vermin, and they're nesting outside, they'll be back really quickly. Note that a mouse can fit in a hole the size of the core of a biro...
