selling a jointly owned property

i jointly own a property with my ex partner we were not married her daughter from a previous relationship is living there along with my daughter , her daughter is now pregnant i have been advised that once my own daughter is 17 i can ask for the property to be sold but not if her daughter continues to live there with the child is this true

I don't think so, as she isn't your daughter.
