messed up law
im forever trying to get custody of my son, i cant even spend the weekend with him (through no fault of my own,) my ex can take him out of the country on a passport i never signed, so i told the police it was me who took him out the country & they said i could be arrested for kidnapping, but when i said she done it, they done nothing, the courts just take your money & do nothing to help single fathers, i would love to see some body from the courts going through this to see how it feels.

I agree. There should be equal rights for parents as they are both responsible for their children and yet there seems ot be rules that apply for the parent with residence that are not applied to the one that doesn't.
On the subject of holidays abroad, as the parent with custody, I asked my ex if he minded me taking our child abroad - not because I had to but because it is only the right thing to do IMHO. what you could do, if you really wonated ot take your son abroad with you is apply to the court to do so. were you married to the mum? Was your son born 'out of wedlock' before Dec 2003?
On the subject of passports, there is no need for bith parents to sign the passport forms.
I find it ludicrous that you, the dad, could be arrested for kidnap!
Wishing you the best
